HELP US 'CHANGE the Game'
The Change the Game campaign is dedicated to raising funds and awareness to address systemic barriers preventing youth from reaching their potential. Told through the lens of real kids MLSE Foundation works with, it shows us what's possible when you level the playing field. Our hope is that if we all play a role in changing the game, then every kid will have a fair chance to write their own story.
HOW WE INVEST
Change the Game is centred around building equity through proven community investment streams, allowing for greater access to free sport programs, increased support of community partners, deeper empowerment within communities, and increased opportunities for leadership in the areas of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
ResearchWe invest in research to continue measuring, iterating, and improving on our approach. We have sector and academic partnerships allowing us to assess youth sport access, engagement, and equity across Ontario.
Community GrantsFewer than 10 percent of Ontario youth get the recommended hour of daily physical activity. Through our grant programs, we support organizations helping youth get off the sidelines.
Community Programs82 percent of Canadians know a child who cannot participate in organized sport due to cost. Our free community programs provide employment opportunities and remove access barriers to organized sport.
Community SpacesOnly half of children aged 5 to 14 take part in sport during an average year. We refurbish athletic facilities to create more opportunities for youth to get moving in their community.
MLSE LaunchPadMore than 60 percent of youth face significant barriers in life. MLSE LaunchPad provides free Sport For Development programming teaching life-skills through sport and empowering youth facing barriers to recognize and reach their potential.
